Common questions

Why isn’t my photo cropped? That’s the point of Matte: the whole photo is fitted inside the canvas and the leftover space becomes the border, so nothing is cut off.

Where do saved photos go? On iPhone and iPad, Save to Photos adds them to your Photos library as new photos. Your originals stay untouched.

Where do Mac exports go? To the folder you choose when you click Export…. Matte remembers that folder and opens there next time.

Does Matte upload my photos? No. Everything happens on your device. See the Privacy Policy.

How do I remove a photo from the batch? Tap the ✕ on the selected thumbnail, press and hold a thumbnail and choose Remove, or tap Select to remove several at once. You can undo right after.

Can I keep the location in my photos? Yes. Location is removed by default; turn off Remove Location (in the Export sheet on iPhone and iPad, or the sidebar on Mac) to keep it.
